NETWORKING TRIP TO GERMANY

LIFE DrylandsUncategorized

🇮🇹🇩🇪 From June 4 to 6, a networking visit took place with the LIFE Sandrasen and LIFE Trockenrasen projects in Brandenburg.
🌾 The local team showed the Italian delegation the successful interventions carried out in 7 sites of sandy dunes, dry grasslands, and Calluna heathlands, where the same Natura 2000 Habitats targeted by LIFE Drylands actions (2330, 4030) are present, as well as some similar habitats (6120, 6230).
🏭 The exchange with the German colleagues was very fruitful, allowing us to identify common points and management ideas that could also be effective in the Italian context. However, Italy’s situation is more sensitive to external factors due to the much heavier anthropization compared to what was observed in Brandenburg.
💚 We are sharing some photos of the many taken in these beautiful places, where the enthusiasm and love for nature conservation shared with our Brandenburg colleagues made us feel at home!

If you’d like a detailed report, you can find it HERE, in a very comprehensive article published by our lichenologist Gabriele Gheza, from the UniBO staff, upon returning from the trip. Enjoy the read!

Here also is an article published by our German friends, whom we thank and hope to see again at the Final Conference in Pavia.
