HABITAT
"Drylands". This word might immediately evoke images of barren, dry, lifeless environments. However, nothing could be further from the truth—they are, in fact, teeming with biodiversity.
The term "arid lands" refers to heathlands, moors, steppes, and dry grasslands, which are home to flowers, lichens, butterflies, and birds.
This section of the website describes the habitats being studied and restored as part of the Life Drylands project. For each habitat, the following details are provided: the conservation status at the intervention sites, the assessment of extinction risk based on the European Red List of Habitats and the threats identified for the project sites.
